Annually clean your Tigerwood deck:
- Start by clearing away dirt and debris from the wood surface.
- Mix a bucket of wood & deck cleaner with water following the mixture on the cleaner’s instructions.
- Apply the solution generously onto the wood using a garden sprayer, mop, or brush, ensuring the surface remains wet. Allow it to sit for 10-15 minutes.
- Scrub the wood surface with a stiff broom or scrub brush, then rinse thoroughly with clean water.
- Apply your hardwood deck finish

Tigerwood warranty:
Most lumber manufacturers offer no warranty on their products. However, Rick’s Custom Fencing and Decking offers warranty coverage to both our material and install customers for their cedar decking.
Material Only Customers:
Rick’s Custom Fencing & Decking offers an exchange program for most “material only” lumber customers. If a board or piece of your deck package you purchased does not meet the grade that was sold to you, then Rick’s will accept a return or exchange of that piece. Must be within 90 days of purchase. Rick’s does not exchange lumber that has been cut, nailed, screwed, stained, painted or otherwise altered.
Installed Tigerwood Customers:
If your product was installed by Rick’s then in addition to exchanging any products that don’t meet grade, Rick’s offers a lifetime warranty on our workmanship. If there is a problem with any project Rick’s Custom Fencing and Decking has installed at your home due to our failure to properly install that product, then Rick’s Custom Fencing and Decking will fix that problem. This warranty does not cover damage caused by negligence, abuse, or acts of God.

For Tigerwood and similar tropical hardwoods, it's recommended to use a UV Oil instead of a stain or sealer. Unlike stains, UV Oil doesn't change the color, and unlike sealers, it doesn't provide water protection. Tigerwood's natural colors and inherent resistance to water penetration make stains and sealers unnecessary. -
How should I clean my Tigerwood deck?
To clean your Tigerwood deck, use a solution of mild detergent and water along with a soft-bristled brush or cloth to gently scrub the surface. Using a pressure washer is not recommended. -
How should I fasten down Tigerwood boards?
Tigerwood requires pre-drilling. Rick’s offer a color matched split stop screw that is designed for this application. Pre-drill fastener pilot holes (deck board only). A minimum of 1/8” spacing required between deck boards. Deck boards should be attached with two screws at each joist (face screw only). -
Do I need to end seal Tigerwood boards?
After crosscutting, exposed ends should be sealed with clear paraffin wax based end sealer. -
