How To Care For and Maintain Your Ornamental Driveway Gate and Gate Operator

Ornamental Driveway Gate Maintenance

Our ornamental gates are powder-coated to withstand the elements while offering your driveway both security and aesthetic appeal.

  • To clean your ornamental gate, scrub it with a mild soap and water solution, rinse thoroughly with a garden hose, and dry completely.
  • Lubricate hinges (use a silicone-based lubricant or light machine oil for best results) to maintain their appearance and functionality over time.

Liftmaster Gate Operator Maintenance

Liftmaster gate operators give your home security and privacy. Whatever your choice of gate is, Liftmaster can handle it. Here are a couple things to keep in mind with your operator.

  • If the battery is low, the operator alarm will emit three beeps with a command. Note that batteries may not function optimally in very cold temperatures. For optimal performance, replace the batteries every three years with LiftMaster part 29-NP712, ensuring proper disposal of the lead-containing batteries.
  • As time passes, the drive chain of the operator may stretch, requiring tightening. Adjust either of the two chain eye bolts for this purpose. Remember, the chain should not sag more than 1 inch for every 10 feet of chain length.
