Picture Frame cedar boards are mounted side by side with a minimal gap between them to allow for expansion and contraction. This style of fence is aesthetically pleasing for both neighbors. Rails are located at the top and bottom of the fence. On the opposite side horizontal 1x4’s are placed at the top and bottom. Fence boards are installed between the posts. A 2x4 or 2x6 caps the top of the fence. Most commonly used are 5x5 pressure treated posts set two feet in the ground with concrete and a 2x6 cedar cap.
