Navy Corpsman Darren Miller had just returned from his deployment and moved his wife and two kids into their brand-new dream home in Pasco when he was called away yet again, to Afghanistan. Although the home was complete, the backyard was not. With no fence or lawn installed, the yard failed to meet city codes, news station KNDU reported.
“The backyard was just all dirt, so people people just kind of got used to walking through, and just kind of coming in my backyard. It was a little concerning,” said Jennifer Miller, whose husband is not expected home until Thanksgiving. “Dogs come in the yard in the middle of the night, and I find giant footprints.”
In order to help get the home up to code and keep intruders out of the yard, Rick’s Fencing donated fence materials at a hefty discount. Volunteers from the family’s community will install the fence this weekend.
Best wishes to Darren Miller and his family during his latest deployment!
