It’s Time for the Rick’s Fencing Ugliest Fence Contest

Is a festering fence turning your yard into a blemish? Do you neighbors shudder when they spy your decrepit excuse for a boundary line? If so, have we got the contest for you! This month marks our annual Ugliest Fence Contest; each year, Rick’s Fencing rewards the owners of the ugliest fence in the Northwest with materials for a brand-new fence. If your fence is chosen as the most offensive eyesore, you will win 100 feet of wood fencing materials.

Last year’s winner, Sherry Newton of Corvallis, Ore., won our Ugliest Fence Contest with panache. Her good neighbor-style wood fence was literally falling down, with moss and lichen thriving on its surface. And we’re betting plenty of critters were making Sherry’s “fence” their home. Basically, this fence installation was useless and hideous. The previous year’s winner, Alicia Miller of Salem, won with a gap-tooth fence that was clearly providing no security or privacy – you could see right through it in parts! Thankfully, with their prizes, Sherry and Alicia could put up brand new fences and wow their neighbors.

To enter the Rick’s Fencing Ugliest Fence Contest, take a picture of the most unattractive stretch of your Vancouver or Portland fencing and submit it along with an entry form following channels. (Your submission MUST include your name, full address and phone number; any missing information will disqualify an entry.)
